3rd Shift Laser Supervisor

The Laser/Profiling Supervisor is charged with the responsibility of building and maintaining a safe, quality focused, and productive profiling team that increases throughput by seamlessly and expertly executing production schedules. This is accomplished by effectively using equipment and labor to perform standardized, repeatable processes. The Profiling Supervisor ensures all equipment is running to full capability, as if new, and gathers resources to solve non-conformances of equipment, process, employee issues, or materials as discovered until resolved.

The primary responsibility of the Laser/Profiling Supervisor is to expertly ensure that the profiling team executes the profiling production schedule in a safe, standardized, and productive manner.
Other responsibilities specific to this position include:

  • Maintaining a safe and clean production environment
  • Conducting effective team meetings at the start of shift to communicate opportunities, explain challenges, listen to feedback, and remove obstacles
  • Setting the next shift up for success by effective communication, making sure material and supplies are stocked
  • Developing employees skills by listening, teaching, and mentoring employees
  • Planning labor schedules to meet all production challenges
  • Removing constraints in labor, equipment, material, or process
  • Assessing benchmark skills
  • Ordering laser supplies
  • Analyzing issues to obtain the root cause with respect to people, equipment, and process
  • Collaborating with other supervisors to solve immediate production issues regarding labor and material needs
  • Actively participating in production meetings
  • Communicating directly with scheduling to ensure priority items are executed with quality and speed
  • Nesting when required
  • Review dispatch reports to ensure adherence to schedule
  • Level loading work centers
  • Evaluating job processes
  • Developing standard operating procedures for all processes
  • Ordering

Education
• High School Diploma or GED
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

Experience
• Minimum of 2 years of supervision experience in a metal fabricating environment
• Profiling Nesting (preferred)
